Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS)

The use of Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) is becoming widely used in our program and fellows are proficient in its use. Our fellows currently have their own butterfly and iPAD, along with access to the Division ultrasound machine used for clinic and inpatient use. In addition to hands on learning during rounds and clinical encounters, formal training is also offered in the way of didactics for our fellows. Training in both native and transplant kidneys is offered. For interested fellows, certification in POCUS is offered.

Our fellows and faculty have been trained on POCUS, with the next refresher session scheduled for May 2024.
