The University of Utah’s Department of Orthopaedics is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Riederer, MD, as a new faculty member. Dr. Riederer, a highly skilled non-surgical pediatric sports medicine specialist, will bring his expertise to the department’s growing team of distinguished physicians and clinicians.
Dr. Riederer earned his Medical Doctorate (MD) from Boston University School of Medicine, completed a General Pediatric Residency at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center, and furthered his training with a Pediatric Sports Medicine Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Colorado. He is board-certified in both general pediatrics and sports medicine.
Dr. Riederer’s clinical interests focus on non-surgical fracture care, the treatment of acute and chronic overuse conditions, hockey medicine, overhead athletes, and sports injuries of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and hip.
Additionally, he specializes in stress fractures of the lower spine and aims to provide comprehensive care for young athletes across a range of sports-related injuries.
Dr. Riederer will be seeing patients at Utah Valley, Parkway Clinic, and the University Orthopaedic Center. His dedication to patient care and specialized knowledge in pediatric sports medicine will be a valuable asset to the University of Utah and the local community.
