Whitney Stoddard

Whitney advises students interested in applying to the Medical Laboratory Science programs. She creates academic plans and works with Faculty and Staff to communicate program expectations to Pre-MLS students. She received her B.S. degree at Weber State University and then started her career in Higher Education shortly after.

Whitney advises current MLS students with the last name beginning in A-N.

Lexi advises students interested in applying to the Medical Laboratory Science programs. She creates academic plans and works with Faculty and Staff to communicate program expectations to Pre-MLS students. Lexi previously worked at Salt Lake Community College as an Academic Advisor for the SLCC Prison Education program.

    Yes, the pre-requisites for the program are listed in this document. 

    No, the MLS program requires in-person attendance. 

    • Full-time students can complete the professional program in as little as 18-24 months.  
    • Part-time students will need an additional year.
    • Yes! It is a great major for students going into medicine, dentistry, and other health professions. 
    • Please be sure to meet with a Pre-Professional Advisor as well as a Pre-MLS Advisor. 
    • No, they can be in progress at the time you apply but must be completed before starting the program in the fall. 
    • Note that students may declare as a pre-MLS major at any time. 

    No, you must apply to the program and university separately. Apply to the U. 

    • The current cost of tuition and fees for the MLS program can be found under “Funding” on the MLS website. 
    • Tuition and fees can be estimated by semester using the Tuition Estimator. 

    Many free resources are available for all degree-seeking students at the university, see them here. There are several How-to videos that are related to advising, registration, etc. 

    Application instructions are linked on the MLS undergraduate website each December for the upcoming cycle. Applications are due mid-February. 

    • Degree-seeking students are strongly encouraged to complete these requirements before starting the program in the fall. 
    • The quantitative intensive (QI) requirement will be fulfilled with MD LB 4200 during the professional phase of the program.  
    • Yes, applicants with a previous degree are eligible to apply for the post-baccalaureate program. 
    • The pre-requisites, GPA requirements, and application process are the same.
