    Does the MLS program have pre-requisites?

    Yes, the pre-requisites for the program are listed in the MLS Pre-requisite List.

    Can the program be completed online?

    No, the MLS program requires in-person attendance. 

    How long will it take me to complete the MLS program?
    • Full-time students can complete the professional program in as little as 18-24 months.  
    • Part-time students will need an additional year.
    Is MLS a good major for pre-med students?
    • Yes! It is a great major for students going into medicine, dentistry, and other health professions. 
    • Please be sure to meet with a Pre-Professional Advisor as well as a Pre-MLS Advisor. 
    Do I have to complete all of the pre-requisites before applying to the MLS program?
    • No, they can be in progress at the time you apply but must be completed before starting the program in the fall. 
    • Note that students may declare as a pre-MLS major at any time. 
    Will my application to the MLS program also gain me admission to the university?

    No, you must apply to the program and university separately. Apply to the U. 

    How much does it cost to complete the MLS program?
    • The current cost of tuition and fees for the MLS program can be found under “Funding” on the MLS website. 
    • Tuition and fees can be estimated by semester using the Tuition Estimator. 
    Where can I find student resources?

    Many free resources are available for all degree-seeking students at the university, visit the Campus Advising Solutions Student Resources page for more information. There are several how-to videos that are related to advising, registration, etc. 

    How do I apply to the MLS program?

    Application instructions are linked on the MLS undergraduate website each December for the upcoming cycle. Applications are due mid-February. 

    Do I have to complete all the university general education (GE) and bachelor’s degree (BS) requirements before applying to the MLS program?
    • Degree-seeking students are strongly encouraged to complete these requirements before starting the program in the fall. 
    • The quantitative intensive (QI) requirement will be fulfilled with MD LB 4200 during the professional phase of the program.  
    Can I petition to have transfer courses count for General Education/Bachelor Degree (GE/BS) requirements and/or an MLS pre-requisite?
    Can I complete the MLS program if I already have a bachelor’s degree?
    • Yes, applicants with a previous degree are eligible to apply for the post-baccalaureate program.
    • The pre-requisites, GPA requirements, and application process are the same.
