The Department of Pathology is pleased to welcome Dr. Jong Taek Kim to the University of Utah. Dr. Kim has joined the Division of Clinical Pathology as an Assistant Professor (Clinical) specializing in molecular pathology and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Kim comes to the University of Utah from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he completed a fellowship in molecular pathology genetics. He received his MD from the University of South Alabama, then went on to a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Kim then completed a residency in clinical and anatomic pathology at the University of Florida while earning a MSc in biomedical informatics at the same institution.
Dr. Kim is interested in using bioinformatics methodology to advance genomics; he looks forward to opportunities to continuing research in this area in addition to his clinical responsibilities. He is very excited to be at the University of Utah and ARUP.
Outside of work, Dr. Kim enjoys exploring the Utah outdoors and doing trail run races. He also enjoys skiing the Alta terrains and riding his new Stumpjumper Evo mountain bike around the trails in Utah.
