Koushik Roy, Ph.D., joined the Division of Microbiology and Immunology in the Department of Pathology as an Assistant Professor in April 2021.
Dr. Roy comes to the University of Utah from UCLA, where he was a postdoc specializing in immunology. He earned his MSc from Jadavpur University and Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta (Kolkata) in his native India.
Dr. Roy’s work focuses on biology, chemical biology, immune cells, and B cell response. While this is his first faculty position, he is excited to have three full-time lab managers, one grad student, and one postdoc in his lab.
Upon arriving in Utah, Dr. Roy was looking forward to the mountains and snow and experiencing winter and fall. He remarked that he had never been so cold as when he moved to Utah!
Dr. Roy enjoys spending time with his family. His wife also works at the University of Utah; they have one daughter.
