Meet Dr. Margaret Williams
Margaret Williams, MD has joined the University of Utah Department of Pathology as an assistant professor specializing in hematopathology. She has been with the department as both a resident and fellow, and is excited to now be working with the other hemepath and molecular faculty and laboratory scientists.
Dr. Williams received her MD degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine before coming to Utah as a resident. She not only liked the residents and faculty she met in the interview process, but noted the proximity of the hospital to the mountains on Google Maps as another point in the University of Utah's favor.
After completing her residency, Dr. Williams also undertook fellowships in hematopathology and molecular genetic pathology with the department. She is interested in molecular aspects of heme and quality improvement, and notes that her colleagues have been very supportive of her during the transition to faculty status.
Outside of work, Dr. Williams is enjoying culinary experimentation with 'football foods' for Tennessee Titans games. She also enjoys reading fiction, walking with her dog, and every word-related game in The New York Times.
