Welcome Dr. Filippo Ingoglia
Filippo Ingoglia, PhD joined the Department of Pathology faculty in March 2022. Dr. Ingoglia is a former fellow and now holds the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical) in the Clinical Pathology Division.
Dr. Ingoglia was born and raised in Sicily, Italy and later moved to Parma in northern Italy to study biology. He spent ten years in Parma and received BA, MA, and PhD degrees from the University of Parma before completing a research fellowship there as well.
During his PhD training, he spent four months at the University of Utah as a visiting fellow; the lab's research was focused on rare inherited metabolic disorders. That experience piqued his interest in biochemical genetics and to apply to the Clinical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship with the Department of Pathology two years later.
As a faculty member, Dr. Ingoglia now specializes in clinical biochemical genetics. He has enjoyed his experience at the University and ARUP so far and feels incredibly motivated by the people and environment around him.
Traveling is one of Dr. Ingoglia's greatest passions, and he loves to share that with his wife. He also enjoys nature and the animal world; playing soccer and climbing are his favorite hobbies.
