The Department of Pathology would like to welcome Julia Bridge, MD, FACMG, FCAP. As a professor, Dr. Bridge joined the Anatomic Pathology Division in September of 2024.
Dr. Bridge grew up in the midwest, and received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed a pathology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She followed her residency with clinical cytogenetic and molecular fellowships at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Southwest Biomedical Research Institute in Arizona. Her research focused on molecular profiling of solid tumors and molecular test development.
Dr. Bridge came to the University of Utah and ARUP because of the "phenomenal reputation," held by the institutions. In past years, she has collaborated with pathologists and oncologists at University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Institute and deeply enjoyed the experience.
In her short time here, Dr. Bridges has come to recognize "the remarkable expertise and talent of the Department of Pathology." An important daily goal has been to "never stop learning," and she continues to look forward to each day learning something new here and within the field.
Outside of work, she loves the outdoors; hiking, running and sports. She also enjoys travel, reading, and volunteering. She cherishes time with family and friends.
