Required application materials to be submitted to ERAS include the following:

  • ERAS online application form
  • Personal statement (please limit to one page)
  • Dean's letter
  • Medical school transcript
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Curriculum vitae
  • USMLE score reports (Please remember that we must have results from USMLE step 1 and step 2 CS and CK before the rank deadline.) No more than two attempts for a passing score
  • COMLEX transcript is accepted for osteopathic graduates
  • ECFMG certificate, if applicable

International Medical Graduate Requirements

Applications will only be accepted through ERAS. International medical graduates should apply through the ECFMG office. See instructions at AAMC’s website or contact the ECFMG office for further information.

In general, most of the international medical graduates we interview meet the following requirements:

  • Green card, J-1 Visa (not sponsored) or documentation of US citizenship
  • Valid ECFMG certificate with Clinical Skills Assessment certification
  • Evidence of a minimum of one year of clinical experience in the United States including two letters of recommendation from academic physicians with whom you have worked
