Passing of Dr. Stephen M. Prescott

We are sad to note the passing of Dr. Stephen M. Prescott. Steve was a faculty member at the University of Utah from 1982-2006, where he served as a Professor of Internal Medicine, an adjunct faculty member in our department, the Founding Director of the Eccles Program in Human and Molecular Biology and Genetics, and the Executive Director of the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Although he held a secondary appointment in Biochemistry, Steve and his students played a significant role in the activities of the department, particularly during our “rebirth” phase in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and they also attracted broad recognition for their lipid research. We extend our sympathies to his wife, Susan, their children, and their larger family.
