Megan Okada, on Art and Science
I have always had an interest in art, essentially since I could hold a crayon. It was something I kept up as a hobby through high school and college, taking some art classes sporadically but had never planned to pursue art professionally. I had always loved science and science seemed like a much more viable option than being a starving artist. Throughout college there were not many opportunities to combine art and science. As I have continued through academia and the work and format has become more flexible and has allowed me to utilize art in my research and presentations.
