West Side Community Review Board

The West Side Community Review Board (WSCRB) advises on and reviews research done in west side Salt Lake County neighborhoods. Its goal is to ensure that studies are carried out in collaboration with, and to the benefit of, west side communities. It works with academics and other researchers as well as residents and community-based organizations looking to initiate research projects in the area.

Black Physicians of Utah (BPOU)

The Black Physicians of Utah (BPOU) is a network of Black and allied physicians committed to improving health equity, representation, and access to care for Utah’s Black and marginalized communities. BPOU focuses on education, mentorship, wellness, and advocacy to address healthcare disparities and support the development of future Black medical professionals.

Community Health Centers, Inc (CHC)

Community Health Centers, Inc. (CHC) is a JCAHO-accredited Primary Care Medical Home, and Utah's largest Federally Qualified Health Center.  CHC provides comprehensive healthcare services, including primary care, dental services, and mental health support, to individuals and families of all backgrounds. Their mission is to deliver compassionate, respectful, and professional care to our diverse community.  Beginning in 2024, CHC also sponsors the CHC Family Medicine Residency, the state's only residency located in a Teaching Health Center.

Intensive Outpatient Clinic (IOC)

In a close collaboration with University of Utah Health Plans, the IOC cares for the highest-risk, highest-need Medicaid members who struggle with chronic medical problems, behavioral health challenges, and substance-use disorders. We use a value-based payment to compensate our high touch, person-centered, and trauma-informed care model.

NIMHD provides support for a variety of research, training, infrastructure development, and outreach and information dissemination projects related to its mission using grants, cooperative agreements and contracts. 

Provides funding opportunities to support research on the use of complementary and integrative health approaches to improve minority health and eliminate health disparities. 

The CMS Office of Minority Health administers the Minority Research Grant Program (MRGP) which focuses on supporting research at minority serving institutions that are exploring how CMS can better meet the health care needs of underserved communities.

The Office of Minority Health provides support to agencies and organizations to eliminate health disparities among racial and ethnic minority populations.
