Welcome to the University of Utah Department of Internal Medicine, Workgroup on Health Research and Evaluation for Communities website. This website also serves the Division of Epidemiology’s Health Research and Evaluation for Communities Section.

Incredible scientific advancements are happening every day within health, behavioral, and social sciences. These advancements are improving clinical care, patient health, and quality of life. The faculty, staff, students, and trainees associated with our Workgroup and Section are dedicated to researching the practices, methods, and approaches that will ensure that these advancements reach every community. Health Research and Evaluation for Communities Pilot Grant 2026- Call for Proposals

The Health Research and Evaluation for Communities (HREC) Section and Workgroup will accept applications for up to $30,000. The purpose of these awards is to expand on the HREC Section and Workgroup's mission to advance the science and practice for health, wellbeing, and access to high-quality health care, public health, and social services in Utah, the Intermountain West, and nation for all persons regardless of sociodemographic, health, or economic backgrounds.
