VA-DoD Long-Term Impact of Military-Relevant Brain Injury Consortium (LIMBIC): Phenotypes of Persistent Comorbidity in Post-9/11 Era Veterans with mTBI (LIMBIC Phenotype)

The purpose of this study is to identify observable characteristics (phenotypes) that occur together and are associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI). The TORCH team is specifically looking at deployed and non-deployed Military and Veteran populations. Understanding the relationship between phenotypes and TBI will allow healthcare providers to understand early signs of complications following a mild traumatic brain injury. It will also help healthcare providers reduce risk and prepare for more collaborative care with patients. Lastly, it will enhance the overall health outcomes of Veterans.
