Renal Purinergic Club

Renal Purinergic Club (RPC) was created by Bellamkonda Kishore and Volker Vallon, M.D. (Univ. of California San Diego). The goal and purpose of the RPC is to foster effective and useful communications and discussions among the researchers interested in advancing the application of purinergic signaling in relation to renal cell, epithelial and vascular biology, physiology, pathophysiology and experimental therapeutics. Although the goal and purpose of the of the Renal Purinergic Club are thematically centered around the kidney, however, the actual scope of this Club is much wider to encompass developments in the field of basic purinergic signaling, such as receptor pharmacology, downstream effector signaling, modulation of purinergic signaling by a variety of agents etc. In short, the Renal Purinergic Club has global vision and thinking, but focuses on local application of the knowledge and expertise to specifically promote renal physiology, pathophysiology and therapeutics. Since its inception, the RPC has conducted three one-day Ancillary Meeting on purinergic signaling in the kidney in conjunction with the major national meetings (Kidney Week 2010; Experimental Biology 2012; Kidney Week 2013).
