The Division conducts bench, clinical, and translational research involving a wide range of topics, including:
- Pathogenesis and treatment of glomerulonephritis and nephrotic syndrome
- Regulation of renal sodium and water transport
- Hypertension
- Acute kidney injury
- Chronic kidney disease
- Diabetic nephrology
- Transplantation
- Hereditary nephritis
Current Funding
The renal division has a well-funded research program. Current funding by division faculty includes:
- 12 RO1's
- Four multicenter grants, including R01 and P01
- Four VA merit reviews
- Six other agency grants
- 15 industry grants
