My research is in the role of intra-renal renin angiotensin system in regulation of blood pressure and sodium balance. Our lab has generated genetically altered mouse models that target various components of the renin angiotensin system within the nephron leading to over-expression or knockout of individual components. We use molecular biology techniques, whole animal physiologic studies and cell culture experiments to delineate the role of each component under physiological and pathological conditions.
