Department of Neurology, Neurobiology & Anatomy Postdoctoral Position
An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of KC Brennan at the University of Utah.
Our lab studies the circuit mechanisms of migraine and post-traumatic headache (PTH), focusing on these disorders as disruptions in network gain and plasticity. We have particular expertise in spreading depolarizations, the phenomena believed to underlie migraine aura. More recently we have begun to investigate the sensory circuits that are activated during a migraine attack.
We use a variety of techniques, including in vivo two-photon microscopy and whole cell recording, intrinsic signal imaging and spectroscopy, mouse genetic manipulation, slice physiology, optogenetics and behavior.

Minimum qualifications are a PhD or MD/PhD in neuroscience or a closely related field, with demonstration of productivity through previous publications. Prior experience with imaging and/or electrophysiology is desirable. The ability to code is also a plus.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and will follow NIH guidelines. This position is eligible for individual and dependent health care plans that include medical, dental, disability, and life insurance benefits. The University of Utah is an excellent location for postdoctoral training because of an extensive neuroscience community, a relatively low cost-of-living, and a renowned access to outdoor recreation in Salt Lake City.
