Adult Neurology Residency
The University of Utah is a unique academic center situated in the heart of the Mountain West servicing patients from a wide catchment area. Our hospital serves as the mountain west's only tertiary neurological and neurosurgical care center. We attract patients from as far north as Montana, as far south as New Mexico and Arizona, as far East as Colorado, and as far west as Oregon. The geographic extent allows our residents to be exposed to a breadth of pathology, encompassing both diagnostic challenges and acutely ill patients in need of a higher level of care.
Our department has representation across all major subspecialties of neurology and has grown immensely during the tenure of our current chair, Dr. Stefan Pulst. Under Dr. Pulst's leadership we have added faculty members to almost all of our subspecialty divisions, created a Translational Neuroscience Division, added an Autonomic lab, increased the size of our neurocritical care unit, and expanded our telestroke program.
Our residency is of medium size with eight resident positions per year, and we are committed to the education of residents on a personal level.
The adult neurology residency at the University of Utah offers so much more than this! We welcome you to look through our website for further information.
