The curriculum is structured in such a way as to give residents in all tracks maximum scheduling flexibility. The program offers a generous amount of elective time enabling residents to tailor their training toward specific career interests. For instance, 6 months of elective rotations are available in the AP/CP track. For all tracks, a larger number of months are predetermined in the PGY-1 and PGY-2 years of training, with more schedule flexibility in the later years of training. The curricular structure and amount of elective time available differs somewhat depending on the training track. There are numerous AP and CP elective rotations available to all tracks and a portion of elective time may be spent on research rotations, if desired. In the AP/CP track, approximately 10 months of the PGY-1 year and 9 months of the PGY-2 year are predetermined. Residents are able to schedule their remaining months with required and elective rotations and research time.
