We consider pediatrics and med/peds residents for entry into our fellowship. We also encourage pediatric sub-specialist (including current fellows) interested in becoming dual-boarded in pediatric critical care to apply. Our fellowship is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

The University of Utah seeks to provide equal access to its programs, services, and activities for people with disabilities. Please provide us reasonable prior notice to arrange accommodations.

Please submit your pediatric critical care fellowship application directly to ERAS.

Write or call the Sharon Marron, the fellowship coordinator, if you need any assistance or further information on applying.

Current stipends and benefits are available from the GME office at the University of Utah.

How to Apply for a Fellowship

Complete the ERAS Application. A full application includes:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Medical school transcript
  • USMLE transcript
  • Medical school dean's letter (MSPE)
  • Summary letter from program director
  • Minimum of two letters of recommendation
    • We find letters from close mentors, independent of specialty, to be the most valuable when considering applications.
  • Personal statement

After reviewing your completed application materials, we will contact you regarding an interview. Our program participates in the NRMP's Pediatric Critical Care match.

Our 2023 interviews will be conducted virtually. Format for interviews will be a 4-5 hour virtual interview block with 2 15-minute breaks. All interviews will also include a 1 hour “Fellow Social” with a few current fellows, usually the evening before the interview day but can vary based on your need. We will notify all applicants invited for an interview of the schedule details well before your interview day. We are committed to an equitable interview process that allows you to learn about our program.

Rank order lists for both programs and applicants are due in November. We try to complete all interviews by October 31.

*The University of Utah Affiliated Hospitals require all international medical graduates to have ECFMG certification in order to enter a residency program. If you are a non-US citizen, you must also have a J-1 Visa.
