The Department of Psychiatry is pleased to announce the addition of a two new faculty - Maryrose Bauschka, MD, and Shawn Kohler, MD - who will, in addition to their faculty roles, each have clinical responsibilities within University of Utah Health. Dr. Bauschka will be working in the Adult inpatient areas at University Neuropsychiatric Institute. Dr. Kohler will be seeing Child and Adolescent patients at both the Farmington Health Clinic and Downtown Behavioral Health Clinics, as well as seeing patients at Alpine Academy one day per week.
Maryrose Bauschka, MD, Instructor (Clinical), earned her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed her adult psychiatry residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals. Her interests include education of medical students and trainees, research opportunities within the department and in collaboration with other departments, and the treatment of eating disorders and mood disorders. Dr. Bauschka is thrilled to be joining the clinical team at UNI and to have the opportunity to continue working with the excellent faculty, residents, and staff here.
Shawn Kohler, MD, Instructor (Clinical), earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Urbana, Illinois. He completed both an adult psychiatry residency and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals. His interests include clinical research in the areas of autism and residential treatment and medical education. Dr. Kohler is excited to be part of the team of excellent faculty, residents, and staff in the Behavioral Health Outpatient clinics.
