The Department of Psychiatry is pleased to announce the addition of new faculty member, Varsha Iyer, MD. In addition to her faculty role, she will have clinical responsibilities within University of Utah Health as a physician working in the child and adolescent inpatient unit at the University Neuropsychiatric Institute.
Varsha Iyer, MD, Assistant Professor (Clinical), earned her medical degree at the University of Utah. She completed her Psychiatry residency at the University of California at Irvine and then went on to pursue a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of California at San Diego, where she served as a chief resident. Dr. Iyer is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Her interests include trauma and stressor-related disorders, social media effects on mood, and medical education. She is committed to advancing the field by educating medical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Iyer is delighted to join the department and the clinical faculty at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute.
