Celiac/Dermatitis Herpetiformis IgG Panel
Ordering Recommendation
•This is the secondary antibody panel for diagnostic assessment and disease monitoring in celiac disease both with and without associated dermatitis herpetiformis. Patients with dermatitis herpetiformis and/or celiac disease may have IgG endomysial and IgG tissue transglutaminase antibodies in sera both in the presence and absence of IgA antibodies; notably, such IgG antibodies may be present in patients with IgA deficiency, although they also may be present in patients who are not IgA deficient.
•To assess for dermatitis herpetiformis or celiac disease, order the Celiac IgA Panel or Dermatitis Herpetiformis IgA Panel concurrently or initially and this panel subsequently.
