Ordering Recommendation

• This is an autoantibody panel for initial diagnostic assessment and disease monitoring in in disorders that present with blistering and erosions, which affect skin and mucous membranes, from suspected epidermolysis bullosa acquisita.

• Order concurrently with perilesional skin biopsy for direct immunofluorescence for initial diagnosis.

• Use for disease monitoring with semiquantitative antibody level assessments and tracking

• To screen for other immunobullous diseases in addition to epidermolysis bullosa acquisita, order concurrently with the Pemphigus Panel, IgA cell surface antibodies indirect immunofluorescence individual test, IgG BP 180 and IgG BP 230 antibody ELISAs individual test, Dermatitis Herpetiformis IgA Panel.
