Ordering Recommendation
• This is an autoantibody panel for initial diagnostic assessment and disease monitoring in disorders that present with blistering, erosions, pruritus, and/or urticaria, which affect skin and mucous membranes, from suspected bullous pemphigoid, pemphigoid variants, linear IgA bullous dermatosis, and linear IgA disease variants.
• Order concurrently with perilesional skin biopsy for direct immunofluorescence for initial diagnosis.
• Use for disease monitoring with semiquantitative antibody level assessments and tracking
• To screen for other immunobullous diseases in addition to pemphigoid and linear IgA bullous dermatosis, order concurrently with the Pemphigus Panel, IgA cell surface antibodies indirect immunofluorescence individual test, IgG collagen type VII antibody ELISA individual test, Dermatitis Herpetiformis IgA Panel.
