The goals of the outpatient rotation for third-year medical students include:
- To gain competence in diagnosing and managing common outpatient pediatric problems
- To understand the referral process and use of community resources
Objectives
Specific learning and skill development objectives are focused on:
- Otitis media
- Streptococcal pharyngitis
- Diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration
- Urinary tract infections
- Upper respiratory infections
- Sinusitis
- Abdominal pain
- Dermatitis and diaper rashes
- Asthma
