Objectives:

  • To become competent in neonatal resuscitation
  • To become competent in management of term infants around delivery
  • To learn to provide support for breast feeding
  • To become competent in managing late preterm infants (34-37 weeks gestational age)

Skill Acquisition

Residents will recognize and develop a treatment plan for:

  • Neonatal resuscitation
  • Care of the late preterm infant
  • Management of routine well baby issues like jaundice, feeding problems, sepsis risk, maternal infections, drug-exposed infant, hypoglycemia, and temperature instability
  • Breastfeeding support

Required Activities

  • "NRP" certification
  • Teaching and supervision of residents and students
