Preparing for Medical School


Individuals interested in applying to medical school are encouraged to evaluate whether a career as a medical doctor is right for them, and consider if their qualifications, personal characteristics, and goals are a good match for applying to the University of Utah School of Medicine.

In addition to participating in a variety of activities and meeting certain academic requirements, applicants are encouraged to do their best to understand the experiences and everyday lives of physicians and the road ahead of them as medical students.

Ultimately, prospective applicants are encouraged to choose activities and career paths that are right for them, and do their best to submit their strongest application. If MD doesn't seem like your path, perhaps consider other healthcare programs offered by the School of Medicine, and University of Utah Health Schools & Colleges.
