Division of Hematology & Hematologic Malignancies

The Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies works to fulfill the mission of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine. Faculty collaborate across teams at University of Utah Health facilities including Huntsman Cancer Institute.The scientific focus of our division is the study of blood and bone marrow in both health and disease. Our physicians deliver expert care to patients with blood cancers—including leukemia and lymphoma—clotting disorders such as hemophilia, and iron metabolism conditions like hemochromatosis. Building on the legacy of Dr. Maxwell Wintrobe—a pioneer in hematology and founding leader of the University of Utah School of Medicine—we are proud to continue a long-standing tradition of excellence in research, clinical care, and education.
