Shock-Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU)

The STICU is a medical-surgical ICU at Intermountain Medical Center (IMC), a Level 1 trauma center and the referral hospital for all of Intermountain Health Care (IHC). The STICU is staffed by board certified P&CCM physicians. The fellow and the attending physician work together overseeing patient care, conducting rounds, and educating the residents and medical students that make up the STICU team. This ICU has a long history of investigation into the use of computerized decision support to enhance the care of patients with acute respiratory failure and the use of critical care echocardiography to define the physiologic state of patients and (thereby) guide management.
