The University of Utah Sleep Medicine Program trains fellows in sleep medicine through an ACGME-accredited program and educates medical professionals from a variety of disciplines on sleep health. The program works closely with other training programs within the University such as internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, family practice, psychiatry, neurology, and otolaryngology to train medical students, residents, and fellows in sleep medicine.
The Sleep Medicine program participates in weekly CME-accredited sleep medicine grand rounds in conjunction with the Intermountain Healthcare Sleep Program, George E. Wahlen VA Salt Lake City Section of Sleep Medicine and the Primary Children’s Medical Center Sleep programs. These grand rounds are held every Wednesday between 4-5pm and available to medical professionals through web-based platforms for remote viewing. Click here for more information.
The program also holds monthly journal clubs, case conferences, research conferences, and invited lectures. Didactic sleep lectures are also provided to residency programs by the sleep medicine faculty. Opportunities for sleep medicine rotations and sleep research electives are available for interested medical students, residents, and fellows.
The sleep medicine program has an active ACGME-accredited one year sleep fellowship program done in conjunction with Intermountain Healthcare.
