Randomized Evaluation of Decision Support Interventions for Atrial Fibrillation
In this study, we are comparing the effectiveness of Shared Decision Making (SDM) tools in promoting high-quality SDM for at-risk patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF). We are evaluating two SDM tools: a patient decision aid to be used by the patient on their own, and an encounter decision aid for the clinician and patient to use together.
This trial includes four arms: 1) patient decision aid only, 2) encounter decision aid only, 3) a combination of both, and 4) regular care (no decision aid). We will specifically evaluate the comparative effectiveness of these four approaches on: 1) SDM outcomes; and 2) health outcomes.
