The following trainee stipend schedule has been approved for the 2021-2022 academic year:
Paid leave includes four weeks (20 calendar days) of vacation, personal or educational leave, and sick leave (maximum 12 days) with individual approval.
Residents have the choice of health insurance plans. Premium costs are shared between the University Hospital and the house officer for health coverage for the house officer and family. Group dental insurance for the house officer and family is available at a nominal charge per month. Group term life insurance in the amount of $25,000 at no charge. Additional life insurance up to a maximum of $350,000 may be purchased by the house officer. Malpractice insurance is provided by the hospital for professional activities that are an approved part of the training program and disability insurance with own-occupation clause in the amount of approximately $2,613 per month, with built-in cost-of-living rider. Basic policy paid by the hospital. Additional options may be purchased by the house officer.
All triple board residents get free parking at Primary Children’s and at the Huntsman Mental Health Institute (formerly UNI) facilities. There is a bridge from Primary’s to the University of Utah hospital.
