Dr. Craig Selzman, Chair of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, is the 2019 recipient of the Outstanding Clinical Leadership Award, University of Utah Health Affiliate Network. Dr. Selzman understands that his work, and that of his colleagues, is significant not only within Salt Lake City, but across the western United States. He speaks about the reciprocal benefits of University of Utah affiliate sites in surrounding states, such as surgeons in Salt Lake City who can fill in so a small town surgeon can take a much needed vacation and patients who can receive their follow-up care from providers who are nearby rather than needing to fly to Utah. We are pleased to announce that Dr. John Ward, the Margaret A. Amundsen Endowed Professor of Medicine, has accepted the positions of Interim Senior Director of Clinical Affairs and Interim Physician-in-Chief of Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at the University of Utah.
