Collaborator Receives Top MNUMS Honor
Dr. Orgoi Sergelen was the recipient of tremendous honor bestowed on her by the American College of Surgeons gathered October 23-25, in San Diego, California, where she was inducted as honorary member of Fellows into the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Sergelen was awarded the fellowship alongside nine other outstanding international surgeons.
Dr. Serglen receives this honor as a tribute to her lifetime of achievements building the surgical systems of her country, Mongolia. Her work has created breakthroughs in access to laparoscopic, transplant, and essential emergency surgery across her country; she is a public health champion and a global health leader. She is the first ever recipient of this award from Mongolia.
Her award was the subject of broad news coverage in UlaanBaatar and was featured on public and governmental channels.
