The University of Utah continues its webinar series in Surgical Services Management, the second installment will focus on practical tools for managing waste, improving quality, and driving value delivery within a complex surgical eco-system. Titled on "Tools for Sustainable Change", We will discuss how to identify goals using the LEAN and SMART concepts, and how to design a process map in order to visualize and prioritize the most valuable and eliminate the least valuable steps in everyday processes in the OR. Surgical systems are complex-- yet meaningful improvements in safety and quality can be achieved by small changes. Senior Value Engineer, Cindy Spangler brings her broad experience from failure analysis in military propulsion flight controls to financial advising for patients to surgical systems analysis as our guest faculty for these two sessions.
