Welcome Our New Physician Nate Van Dyk, MD
Nathan (Nate) Van Dyk, MD, joins the Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery as an Assistant Professor (clinical track) of Surgery, and the Department of Emergency Medicine as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.
Dr. Van Dyk grew up in Montana. He attended medical school at the University of Washington through the WWAMI program, and completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago, where he served as the chief resident for emergency medical services.
Before coming to the University of Utah, he practiced Emergency Medicine in Northern California for about a decade. His ongoing interest in cardiovascular physiology and critical illness subsequently led him to complete fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. He is thrilled to be joining the incredible team at the University of Utah Health as an Intensivist and Emergency Physician.
Outside of work, Dr. Van Dyk enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, snow sports and charcoal grilling
