Siam Oottamasathien, MD and colleagues within his laboratory were awarded the 2012 Basic Science Prize from the American Academy of Pediatrics Meeting - Section on Urology. This work was titled, "The Physiologic Relevance of LL-37 Mediated Bladder Inflammation and Mast Cells". Oottamasathien is now the only three-time recipient ever of this prestigious award.

Patrick Cartwright, MD, will be serving as the president of the Western Section of the American Urologic Association in the coming year.

Blake Hamilton, MD, received a Utah award for innovation.

Doug Carrell, MD, and his co-investigators in OB/GYN received a multi-year eight million dollar NIH grant to study the role of folic acid and selenium in spermatogenesis and fertility.

Will Lowrance, MD, was elected as prestigious SWOG fellow.

Si Oottamasathian, MD, has manuscript that was selected as finalist for the AAP-Urology Section Basic Science prize (after winning it in 2010).

Patrick Cartwright, MD, will act as president of SPU in 2013-14.

Doug Carrell, MD, became editor of Andrology.
