The Department of Surgery would like to congratulate our nine exceptional surgeons that were inducted as Fellows of the American College of Surgeons on October 27th, 2019.
According to the American College of Surgeons, members of ACS are referred to as Fellows. "The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon’s name mean that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the College."
This year was a record-breaking year for ACS with 1,993 Initiates being welcomed as new Fellows. The Department of Surgery could not be more proud of our surgeons and this outstanding achievement.
