Dana Rioux-Forker, MD, is an Assistant Professor in Hand Surgery within the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Utah.

Dr. Rioux-Forker received his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and as a University Honors Scholar in Biology with a minor in Biomedical Sciences. He earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and completed his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at the University of Missouri. Dr. Rioux-Forker then completed an Orthopedic Hand Surgery Fellowship at Mayo Clinic, with a special interest in brachial plexus injury, peripheral nerve injury, wrist ligament injury, altered wrist kinematics and arthritis, and extremity reconstruction.

Dr. Rioux-Forker’s clinical interests in hand surgery include:

  • Management of wrist trauma, ligament injuries, arthritis, and arthroscopy
  • Distal radius fractures, ulnar head fractures, and DRUJ instability and arthritis
  • Complex peripheral nerve injury
  • Extremity salvage and reconstruction

Dr. Rioux-Forker’s research interests include:

  • Minimally invasive surgical techniques
  • Clinical outcomes
  • Medical education
