MS in Biomedical Informatics

A Master of Science degree in Biomedical Informatics trains students in applied technical skills and management of healthcare analytics. Our program is geared toward clinicians and healthcare professionals, biologists, and graduates in information technology and data science.

The MD-MS Pathway is designed for University of Utah medical students who want to face the new healthcare challenges related to biomedical informatics and health information technology. During a Registrar-approved leave of absence after Phase 3, medical students can complete an MS degree in 9 or 12 months.

Program of Study

We offer two tracks adapted to market demands. Credit hours are dependent on the track with a required minimum of 30 credits of coursework to include core courses, respective track courses, and a practicum. Click on each for more details.
