Visitors and Observers
Observerships
Due to the high volume of trainees in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah, observerships are rare. In addition, the Internal Medicine Residency office does not coordinate any observerships. Individual faculty may elect to allow a visitor to observe them, but this issue is handled between the observer and the faculty member, with approval of the faculty's department and the GME office required.
Visiting 3rd Year Medical Students Clerkships
The University of Utah SOM does not accept any visiting 3rd year students.
Visiting 4th Year Medical Students Sub-Internships
Medical students wanting to participate in a visiting Sub-I rotation must apply through VSAS. Additional information from the Dean's Office regarding the University of Utah Visiting Medical Student Program is available here.
Visiting Residents
The Department of Medicine Office of Education does not coordinate visiting residents on the general medicine services. Potential visitors need to go through the specific division of interest (such as cardiology).
