We are pleased to announce that Dr. Guilherme Del Fiol joined the Department of Biomedical Informatics on March 1, 2011 as an Assistant Professor.
Prior to Del Fiol accepting a faculty position with BMI, he was an Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical Informatics within the Department of Community and Family Medicine at Duke University. Dr. Del Fiol earned an MD degree from the University of Sao Paulo; a PhD in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Utah; and has a significant amount of experience in knowledge management and clinical decision support (CDS). His goal is to foster the widespread dissemination of knowledge management and CDS applications that improve the quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of health services in the U.S. and abroad. In addition, Del Fiol will focus on the Infobuttons environment as part of the Knowledge Management and Mobilization (KMM) initiative at the University of Utah.
