Jim Cimino, ACMI President, announced that Charlene R. Weir, PhD and Qing Treitler Zeng, PhD, faculty at the University of Utah, Department of Biomedical Informatics, will be formally inducted as Fellows on Sunday, October 23, 2011, at the annual reception and dinner of the College held in conjunction with the AMIA 2011 Annual Symposium in Washington, DC. Weir and Zeng are two of 21 fellows who were elected from an outstanding slate of nominations this year.
Dr. Cimino thanked Joyce Mitchell, Chair of the Elections and Nominations Committee, her committee, and Voting Fellows for their participation in the 2011 fellowship election.
