Abstract
The objective of this study proposal is to assess the adequacy of conceptual coverage by LOINC, SNOMED CT and RadLex for Radiology and Imaging report needs using a subset of National Institutes of Health (NIH) names for tests, findings and values as the basis for the analysis. The main hypothesis of this study proposal is that the combination of LOINC, SNOMED CT and RadLex will represent concepts needed better than any of these used individually or in paired combination only.
Bio
Pavla Frazier is a Masters degree candidate in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah. She received a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and an MBA, in 1997 and 1999 respectively, from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her work in informatics focuses on terminology and standards.
