Congratulations to BMI alumni Adi Gundlapalli and Per Gesteland, whose paper, "The EpiCanvas infectious disease weather map: an interactive visual exploration of temporal and spatial correlations" was awarded First Prize in the Scientific Achievement Category of the Award for Outstanding Research Articles in Biosurveillance by the International Society for Disease Surveillance. Dr. Gesteland will present his paper at the ISDS meeting December 4 – 5, 2012 in San Diego.   http://www.syndromic.org/annual-conference/2012. This was the  same paper that was previously recognized at the 2011 AMIA conference with the Homer Warner award.
