Asan Medical Center and Utah Department of Biomedical Informatics Sign MOU to Establish Research Partnership

On October 31 st 2019 at the Utah Asia Campus ( https://asiacampus.utah.edu/) the Asan Medical Center and the Department of Biomedical Informatics signed a MOU to establish a research partnership. Asan Medical Center (AMC) research is a hospital in Seoul, South Korea established to put into practice the principles of Asan Foundation founder  Chung Ju-Yung. The ASAN Institute for Life Sciences operates through a cooperative system between AMC and the University of Ulsan College of Medicine, and is home to research in the fields of clinical and basic medicine and related disciplines. Its research staff includes approximately 1,300 researchers, including some 540 clinical instructors from AMC and about 760 specialized medical researchers. The agreement will allow faculty and students in the DBMI to work in join research projects with this biomedical research leader in Korea. Among initial projects, is the international validation of AI tools developed by Korean AI experts under the leadership of AMC.
