Bart Brower, M.D.
As Dr. Brower’s career ends he confesses that he still doesn’t understand renal physiology and the one unanswered question that continues to burn in his soul is “why did I have to take biochemistry”? He states he has not used one gram, not one milligram of it in 35 years of practice. All in all Dr. Brower wouldn’t change a thing. He was blessed with a great education, a practice filled with wonderful patients and experiences, fantastic partners, and an incredible wife and family.
Glenn Cook, M.D.
Glenn Cook, M.D. has been married to Rosilene for over 40 years. Together they have three children and eight grandchildren. He is practicing full time with Scottsdale Medical Imaging. Merril T. Dayton, M.D.
Dr. Dayton is currently Professor and Chairman, Department of Surgery, SUNY Buffalo and Chief of Surgery of the five hospital Kaleida Health Systems. Dr. Dayton currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Academic Health Professionals Insurance Association which is the malpractice insurance company for the entire SUNY system. He has served as President of two national academic surgery organizations, Western Surgical Association and the Association for Academic Surgery and Vice-President of another – Society of Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. Dr. Dayton was selected as a Distinguished Educator by ASE and received the CEO Distinguished Contributions Award from the Erie County Medical Center.
John W. Dodson, M.D.
Dr. Dodson works in emergency care at Largo Medical Center in Florida. He has worked there since 1981 and been the medical director since 1984. He and his wife have 2 children. John also reports that he is still playing 4.0/4.5 tennis at age 60.
Val Dunn, M.D.
Dr. Dunn and his wife Laura recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They have 17 grandchildren and have a happy life living in beautiful Provo Canyon near Vivian Park. Together they served a Humanitarian Mission to India for 18 months and currently enjoy serving at the Provo Missionary Training Center. Dr. Dunn is now working ¾ time with the greatest group of radiologists in the country, Utah Radiology Associates.
Theodore N. Hackett, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Hackett lives in Arcadia, California and practices at Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale, California.
Robert M. Holley, M.D.
Dr. Holley has a family practice at Pt. Pleasant Medical Center in West Virginia. He is an Assistant Professor at Marshall University, a Board eligible Lipidologist and a national speaker on vascular disease.
W. Patrick Knibbe, M.D.
Dr. Knibble was recently appointed director of pediatric Rheumatology for St. Luke's Health Systems in Boise, Idaho where he practiced since 2001. He is the only pediatric rheumatologist in Idaho, having started the pediatric clinic at Primary Children's Hospital in 1981 which John Bohnsack, MD runs now. He served there until 1998 when John brought in Sampath Prahalad, MD to expand his division of Pediatric Rheumatology and Immunology. Dr. Knibble also serves as the chair of our statewide rheumatology organization, AIR (Association of Idaho Rheumatologists) which promotes patient advocacy and CME in the rheumatology community.

Dr. Tatton lived long enough to retire as of 2007 and now enjoys the privilege of volunteering. He has one wife and eight children and resides in Nephi, Utah. He is a fellow in three organizations: Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, and Wilderness Medicine.

Nigel Wappett, M.D. lives in Fairbanks, Alaska and is employed at Tanana Chiefs Conference as a practicing Ob/Gyn physician. He is a Fellow, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a Diplomate for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Klea D. Bertakis, M.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Bertakis resides in Davis, California, where he is in his second five-year term as Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at U.C. Davis. In 1979 the Western Student Medical Research Forum awarded the first "Klea D. Bertakis Award". This award is given annually to a medical student for excellence in research.
Paul F. Bray, M.D.
Dr. Bray practices medicine at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He has been Chief of Hematology at Jefferson Medical College, director of the Cardeza Foundation for Hematologic Research, and an investigator for the Women’s Health Initiative. He and his wife, Nancy, and their son Sean, live in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania.
K. Ning Chang, M.D.
Dr. Chang practices plastic surgery at the California Pacific Medical Center and the California Plastic Surgery Clinic in San Francisco. He received the Outstanding Clinical Faculty Award from the University of California, San Francisco, and placed first in the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation scholarship contest in 1981 and 1984. He is also the author of numerous articles and book chapters on various aspects of surgery.
Kate Kohler, M.D.
Dr Kohler retired from practicing obstetrics/gynecology in January 2006. She has served as an ACOG section chairman, as volunteer medical director of Albany County Family Planning for twenty-four years, knitted over 1,000 baby caps for newborns since 1994, and has been married for 39 years. She currently resides in Green Valley, Arizona.

Kim C. Bertin, M.D.
Dr. Bertin practices Orthopedic Surgery in Salt Lake City. He reported that his practice is now limited to total knee and total hip replacements.
David Busath, M.D.
Dr. Busath has been the Thomas L. Martin Professor of Anatomy, Physiology, Biophysics and Neuroscience at BYU since 1995. From 1983 to 1995 he was a professor at Brown University. He has published over 60 scientific publications and has mentored graduate and undergraduate students on over 300 biophysics research projects. He is remarried and has eight children.
Robert M. Christiansen, M.D.
Dr. Christiansen has been in the private practice of ophthalmology since he completed his residency. His office is adjacent to LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Dr. Christiansen's special interest is in vision rehabilitation and the care of the partially sighted, and he has served nationally in the American Academy of Ophthalmology to further the care of those who cannot be helped further with their vision through medical or surgical means. Dr. Christiansen also serves as an adjunct associate professor of ophthalmology at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
Victor A. Diaz M.D.
Dr. Diaz completed his internship and residency in general surgery at UTMB Galveston from 1978-83. In 2004 he was named as a diplomat for the American Board of Surgery; in 2005 he was named a fellow for the American College of Surgeons. Currently he is serving as Chief of Surgery at Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso, Texas. He and his wife, Susan, have been married 33 years and have four children: Laura, 30; Nicholas, 28; Joseph, 25; and Anthony, 23.
Richard Y. Farnsworth, M.D.
Dr. Farnsworth and his wife, Becky, have been married for 33 years. They have four sons, three daughters-in law, and six grandchildren. Dr. Farnsworth has a successful pediatrics practice at Utah Valley Pediatrics in Provo, Utah. He has served in Boy Scouts for over 20 years and served an LDS mission in Korea with his wife from 2004-2006. He was the chairman of the Pediatrics Department at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and also serves as an associate clinical professor in the Division of Community Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
Ren Imai, M.D.
Dr. Imai is married to Janet Habegger, a graduate of the Indiana School of Medicine. They have two children: Derek, 25; and Laura, 23. Ren and Janet have practiced family medicine in Reedley, California since 1981. They are currently employed by community medical providers, a group of approximately 40 primary care providers in Fresno and the surrounding communities. Dr. Imai is also CFO of Sante Community Physicians, the local IPA.
Brent D. Jackson, M.D.
Dr. Jackson is a past president of the Utah Academy of Family Physicians and a former Governing Board Member for Intermountain Healthcare. He and his wife raised seven children, six of which have completed college degrees; the seventh is currently a student at Utah State University. Dr. Jackson is a certified scuba dive control specialist and a scout master to four national scout jamborees and two world scout jamborees.
Michael Lahey, M.D.
Dr. Lay joined the Houstaff Outpatient Clinic at LDS hospital 10 years ago. He is now teaching almost full time in the University of Utah Internal Medicine Ambulatory Clinic and loving every minute of it! His wife, Kate, retired from her law practice 7 years ago in order to write novels which are a treat to read. Their only child, Tim, joined the Infectious Disease Department at Dartmouth four years ago. Dr. Lahey feels rather blessed with a 41-year marriage, a great practice, a pretty good tennis game, and a never ending supply of contemporary American novelists.
Paul D. Larsen, M.D.
Dr. Larsen is a professor of pediatrics and neurological science at the University of Nebraska. He is a recipient of the University of Nebraska's highest teaching award, the 2007 Outstanding Teaching and Instructional Creativity Award. He has also developed educational website for the neurology and pediatric neurology exams that are being used in the US and internationally.
Jeffrey L. Mathews, M.D.
Dr. Matthews is a practicing rheumatologist at the Athletic Clinic of Central Utah in Provo, Utah. He is board-certified internal medicine FACP, a founding fellow in rheumatology FACP, and board-certified in emergency medicine FACEP. He and his wife have nine children and 18 grandchildren.
Ellen Perricci, M.D.
Dr. Perricci is a practicing psychiatrist and adjunct faculty member at the University of Michigan. In 2008, she celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary with her husband, Michael, in Italy. In October of 2008, Dr. Perricci attended a writer's course with Marilyn Grams.
R. Coleen Stice, M.D., FACS
Dr. Stice is a lifetime member of the American College of Physician Executives and has spent 20 years collecting medical/surgical supplies and transporting them to Guatemala, Siberia, Lithuania, and Tanzania. In those countries she established outpatient clinics, treated patients and plastic reconstruction, established laparoscopic surgery, began peptic ulcer treatment clinics, and trained nurses, pharmacists, and dentists in Tobolsk, Russia. She and her husband, Robert Wells, have three daughters: Sarah, 31; Emily, 22; and Caitlin, 18.
