1986

Michael D. Adams, M.D.

Dr. Adams lives in Wyoming where he has a private practice in Family Medicine. He has received several awards from the Boy Scouts of American and was the president of the Uintah County Medical Society. He has 2 sons and 2 grandchildren.

Michael Marushack, M.D.

Dr. Marushack is currently practicing orthopedic surgery and sports medicine at Orthopedic Specialists in Pennsylvania. He and wife Mary have 2 children.

Scott McFarland, M.D.

Dr. McFarland resides in Granite Bay, California and practices Ophthalmology.

Steven K. Miller, M.D.

Dr. Miller is a resident of Salt Lake City and the father of five children, two of which are medical students. Dr. Miller is the Past President of Utah Otolaryngology Society, President of ENT Center of Salt Lake, Park City and Draper, and is currently an AMA delegate from the state of Utah.

Scott Rallison, M.D.

Dr. Rallison is a practicing Ob/Gyn at Avenues Specialty Clinic and LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Dean Smith, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Smith resides in Texas. He is a professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Department of Neuroscience at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He received his Ph.D. in Neurosciences from UC San Diego.

1987

John Adair, M.D.

Dr. Adair practices Neurology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.

Rex Head, M.D.

Dr. Head supervises several mental health clinics in southeastern Idaho.  He is the founder and director of the Orphanage Support Services Organization (OSSO) which    supports developing world orphanages and consults on orphanage care worldwide.  He is the father of five children and currently resides with his wife, Melodie, in Rexburg, Idaho.

Jamie E. Ohriner, M.D.

Dr. Ohriner practices pediatrics at Fair Oaks Hospital and has served as the Pediatric Unit medical director.  She is married to William Ohriner, who is also a pediatrician.  They live in McLean, VA and have four children.

1988

Chris Anderson, M.D.

Dr. Anderson has worked in pulmonary critical care in Ogden, Utah for the past 12 years at McKay Dee Hospital and Ogden Regional Hospital. An experience, he says, "has provided a great opportunity to treat interesting patients and complex illnesses." He has three children: Laura, Eric, and Dylan. Skiing, running, and traveling take up the rest of his life.

Sandra Calman, M.D.

After ten years in full-time clinical practice, half time in primary care and half time in urgent care/ER, Dr. Calman transitioned full-time into biotech/pharma. She is currently chief medical officer and VP of clinical development for Isolagen, Inc, whose main undertaking is wound and scar healing with cellular therapy.  She also led the medical and clinical research branch at Dey LP (KGaA), Merck, and Johnson and Johnson, as well as Dow Pharmaceutical.  She lives on the coast near San Francisco on eight acres (which is heaven) with seven children, one dog, one horse, three cats, and dozens of wild animals around on a daily basis.

Joy Leverich, M.D.

Dr. Leverich has had a successful rural general surgery practice in Wilmington, Ohio. She currently practices at Clinton Memorial Hospital. She and her husband have been married 25 years and are the proud parents of a 12-year-old daughter. Dr. Leverich says, "I am proud to be a graduate of University of Utah and the School of Medicine - they have accomplished great things!”

Ernest A. Lucero, M.D.

Dr. Lucero lives in Bonners Ferry, Idaho and has a general surgery private practice. He said, "Still working...not on Medicare (yet).”

Craig Marsden, M.D.

Dr. Marsden is currently practicing emergency medicine at Intermountain Health Center in Murray, Utah. He has served as president of the Utah Chapter of ACEP, and as a board member of Ascend Alliance. Dr. Marsden and his wife have five children.

Sheryl Zimmerman, M.D.

Dr. Zimmerman is currently working as a pediatric rehabilitation hospitalist in Dallas, Texas at Our Children's House at Baylor. She and her husband are raising two teenage boys, one of whom is medically fragile.

1990

John W. Robinson, M.D., S.M.

Dr. Robinson founded the St. Mark's Family Residency program in 1994, and served as the Program Director from 1994 to 2004. He was President of the Utah Healthcare Institute from 1999 to 2004.

Kyle Barnett, M.D.

Dr. Barnett has been practicing gastroenterology in Shreveport, Louisiana for the past 14 years. This past April he moved back to Utah to start his practice with Granite Peaks Gastroenterology in Sandy, Utah.  He and his family are excited to return to Utah and he looks forward to seeing previous classmates.
